This is the first course in the series that covers the core concepts of music that are used for composition and performance. The topics in this first course include rhythm and time signatures, song structure and arrangement, notes and intervals, and constructing basic scales.

The course requires sufficient computer and internet quality for participation in a fully online course. A DAW is expected to be used for practicing and completing assignments. If taking the course for credit, the assignments must be submitted online as described in the assignments. There is no textbook requirement.

Digital Music Production is a transport into the world of modern music creation. Students learn the process of creating modern electronic based music and EDM styles using industry standard sequencing techniques. In the process of exploring and developing their creative voice, students will acquire knowledge and technical skills such as playing instruments with MIDI, looping clips, warping audio, programming computer based synthesizers and creative effects to help establish and develop their own unique sound.
